関健一さんの作品展を開催致します。木を刳(く)り、漆を重ねる。分業が一般的な漆の世界において、木地づくりから漆塗りまでを一貫して担い、ものづくりの原点と向き合っています。藤嵜一正氏、赤木明登氏に師事し、輪島で独立。震災を経て京都へと移り、新たな土地での制作が始まりました。刳りものと漆塗りの往復から、漆の新たな表情がそっと立ち上がります。ぜひご高覧ください。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by Kenichi Seki. Seki carves wood and applies urushi (Japanese lacquer), handling the entire process himself—an uncommon approach in the often specialized world of lacquerware. He studied under Kazumasa Fujisaki and Akito Akagi, and later established his independent studio in Wajima. Following the 2024 earthquake, he relocated to Kyoto, where he began a new chapter in his practice. From the rhythm between carving and lacquering, quiet and subtle forms emerge. His work gently reveals new expressions of urushi. We invite you to experience it.

Profile | 1982年大阪府和泉市生まれ | 大学時代に恩師が携わっていた李朝木工の仕事がきっかけで工芸に触れる。 | 卒業後、木工芸家·藤嵜一正氏に師事。 | 2012年塗師·赤木明登氏に師事し2019年に輪島市にて独立。 | 2024年震災を経験し、拠点を京都に移す。 | 自身で木地づくりから漆塗りまで一貫して制作している。 |

刳りものと漆塗り、両軸から生まれる独自の造形は、静かに、漆の可能性をひらいていくような仕事です。

Born in 1982 in Izumi, Osaka. Drawn to craft through Korean woodworking in university. Trained under Kazumasa Fujisaki and Akito Akagi. Established his practice in Wajima in 2019. Moved to Kyoto after the 2024 earthquake. Creates both wood and lacquer work entirely by hand. ・ His quiet forms explore new possibilities in urushi through the interplay of carving and lacquering.
